||| About LET (Transport Economics Laboratory)

LET is specialised in transport economics and land use analysis. It is sponsored by the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research), and the University of Lyon (University Lyon 2 and ENTPE, National School of Public Works).

LET is a research team with a staff of about 40 permanents and 30 PhD Students coming from various disciplines such as economics, geography, engineering or sociology. LET’s research activity is as the heart of the relationship between transport and territories.

It uses concepts and tools of these disciplines, in order to analyse daily mobility and activity location, model passenger and freight transportation, and develop economic evaluation of transport policy. This research is performed in the view of sustainable development, with its environmental, social and economic dimensions. LET members publish regularly in international peer-reviewed journals. LET has a contract-based research activity in response to public bodies needs.

The LET, main research team in the field of transportation in France, also contributes to the national centre of excellence “Lyon Urban Truck & Bus 2015”.
