About LET (Transport Economics Laboratory)
LET is specialised in transport economics
and land use analysis. It is sponsored by the CNRS (National
Centre for Scientific Research), and the University of Lyon
(University Lyon 2 and ENTPE, National School of Public
Works).
LET is a research team with a staff of about 40 permanents
and 30 PhD Students coming from various disciplines such
as economics, geography, engineering or sociology. LET’s
research activity is as the heart of the relationship between
transport and territories.
It uses concepts and tools of these disciplines, in order
to analyse daily mobility and activity location, model passenger
and freight transportation, and develop economic evaluation
of transport policy. This
research is performed in the view of sustainable development,
with its environmental, social and economic dimensions.
LET members publish
regularly in international peer-reviewed journals. LET has
a contract-based research activity in response to public
bodies needs.
The LET, main research team in the field of transportation
in France, also contributes to the national centre of excellence
“Lyon Urban Truck & Bus 2015”. |
